Hideaway 02:49
Huddle up and hide behind the blinds Can’t bear the thought of strange watching eyes I spend all of my days gazing at flickering lights Memories flicker and die Frost in the morning, fire at night Where did all of my waking hours go I spend all of my days gazing at flickering lights Tangled in the sound and the glow I want to hide away (x3) Chasing shadows on the walls of my cave Wolves at my window howl every night Peer round the corner, give me a fright I spend all of my days gazing at flickering lights I'm living a fictional life I want to hide away (x3) Chasing shadows on the walls of my cave I want to scream out But I know I never will 400 miles a second And I’m standing perfectly still The wind blows in cold, howls down my hall A plastic pennant flutters in the breeze Rattles the windows, clatters the blinds A building full of poltergeists I want to hide away (x3) Chasing shadows on the walls of my cave I want to scream out But I know I never will 400 miles a second And I’m standing perfectly still

Marie Curie 02:57
Marie Curie We bond so famously With all the energies we’ve proved Marie, you see We’ve got such chemistry I’m not so noble as to remain unmoved What is this feeling that I can’t explain Could this be love, or has the radiation reached my brain Marie Curie You’re radiant, don’t you see I lived a half-life until you married me Marie, I know Those Nobels aren’t for show Your polished mind is constantly aglow What is this feeling that I can’t explain Could this be love, or has the radiation reached my brain I’d find you anywhere like a speck inside pitchblende My heart is failing and it’s coming to the end Won’t let you slip away No What is this feeling that I can’t explain Could this be love, or has the radiation reached my brain Marie Curie (Whoa-oh-oh-whoaaaa) Marie Curie

Birdsong 03:28
Rows and rows of little birds All perched on the radio wires Chirping away, desperate to be heard Little songbird in the night Takes a streetlamp for a spotlight Clears his throat and belts out that standard tune A thousand boombox Romeos Chirping and squawking on the radio The dead-eyed tune, same as you've always known So sing out loud, and sing out proud Fluff out your plumage and sing out now Like every other song around the world You're deeply in love with a faceless girl Beware of teenage boys with acoustic guitars Never let them get too far It’s only birdsong It’s only birdsong Let me pick out a tune and tell you all about the Hummingbird beats in my birdcage ribcage Strumming along, can't get off the ground I'm just as bad as them Capo and vocals, and I don't know when I’m just a little bird at heart Perched in a tree, strumming harder than ever Turns of phrase, think they're oh so clever No matter how hard you flap you can never fly So sing out loud, and sing out proud Fluff out your plumage and sing out now Like every song around the world You’re deeply in love with the faceless girl Beware of teenage boys with acoustic guitars Never let them get too far It’s only birdsong It’s only birdsong

Sirens 03:22
I hear the siren song Someone’s crying out in pain Feel jaded to their call The lights flashing through the rain Hear the screams outside my window Shift my vice-grip on my pillow I hear the siren song Someone’s drowning on our shores Breakers carry him away And the banshees shriek once more Stop my ears against the wailing And keep sailing, sailing And I’ll drown, I’ll drown If you don’t tie me down I’ll drown, I’ll drown If you let me overboard I hear the siren song So does everyone for miles The ship begins to sway Still everyone’s all smiles Every night I hear the screams of strangers Turn my head away And I’ll drown, I’ll drown If you don’t tie me down I’ll drown, I’ll drown If you let me overboard And I can’t extend a hand With my hands over my ears I hear the call, running down the hall to jump into the sea So tie me down Cause I don’t want them to sing for me Nothing left but broken wreckage For someone else’s rubbernecking I hear the siren song Someone’s crying out in pain Feel jaded to their call The lights flashing through the rain Hear their voices as I drown

Hand in hand in a foreign land, under street lamps and the sky Giving in is all too easy, give it a try Shy away from going under, on the right side of regret They canonized me for politeness Beatified for etiquette, beatified for etiquette Who am I? Who are we? Who are you? A funhouse mirror of what I thought I knew Who are you? Who are we? Who am I? See through your disguise See through brand new eyes Look out on surface calm, under-surface stormy weather I try hard to keep myself together I try to be so carefully unremarkable Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain The man behind the curtain Who am I? Who are we? Who are you? A funhouse mirror of what I thought I knew Who are you? Who are we? Who am I? See through your disguise See through brand new eyes I start to fear when cracks appear, you start slipping off your mask Plunge my hand into your heart, a nest of broken glass Some secrets should stay secrets, some strangers should stay strangers A meltdown in a stranger’s town, there’s nothing I can do There’s nothing I can do Who am I? Who are we? Who are you? A funhouse mirror of what I thought I knew Who are you? Who are we? Who am I? See through your disguise See through brand new eyes

Hats 03:29
Some people wear hats to hide their physical faults. Like bald spots and gaping wounds from violent physical activity. Some people wear hats just to fit in. And these hats speak for themselves. Some people wear hats indoors to rebel. And in doing so they break a long standing tradition, flipping the middle finger bird to proper etiquette. Some people make their pets wear hats because they think it is cute. For similar reasons, some people dress their little children up like sailors. There are many different occupational hats: A baseball player wears a baseball cap. A cowboy wears a cowboy hat. Sometimes cowboys wear baseball caps and baseball players wear cowboy hats and the world falls further into disarray and nobody seems to really care. Hats often serve a practical purpose. Construction hard hats assist in construction. Propeller beanies assist in flight. Thinking caps cause rapid changes in atmospheric pressure resulting in violent brainstorms. Sometimes hats serve no purpose at all but merely provide presence. But this in itself is a vital purpose, often overlooked. These are the hats we must appreciate the most: the salt of the earth, the middle class, the blue collar heroes.

In the pudding dimension of free love We live in the butterscotch district. We run around in our tapioca skivvies Looking for free love. We lie on our backs, staring at the vanilla sky Hoping that it's not another consecutive day of chocolate rain. We dodge accusations of empty calories, asserting the importance of our tradition based on dairy-based desserts. In the pudding dimension of free love We celebrate false profundities by mounting the heads of our favorite prophets on our favorite mantles. We wear starched shirts to remind ourselves of what we are, and what we came from. Together, in aimless search of a refrigerator. Forever, in aimless search of a refrigerator.
